Since its creation in 2007, the Jacques-Bouchard Foundation has helped many people at the end of life and their loved ones to fulfill their wish to stay in the comfort of their homes to live their final moments.
The Foundation’s work is carried out in close collaboration with CLSCs, physicians, nurses, caregivers, social workers, psychologists and volunteers, all working together to provide essential care for each patient and to support the family during bereavement.
Thanks to the Foundation’s mode of operation, its advertising campaigns and its continued work, access to palliative care at home at the end of life has been made possible in several regions of Quebec. The Foundation has thus become an essential partner in palliative care in Quebec. Not only does it improve the provision of home care services, it also brings new ideas and opportunities for patients and their families.
In order to pursue its mission to promote and provide access to palliative care at home and to ensure its sustainability, the Jacques-Bouchard Foundation is pleased to announce that it will make a major donation to NOVA MONTREAL in the following months. The total amount of this gift will be used to help people at the end of life to live their final moments at home, as the Foundation has been doing for the past twelve years.
In addition, in order to help pursue vital research in the development of palliative home care, the Foundation will make a major donation to the University of Montreal’s School of Nursing Science. This will enable the creation of the Fonds de bourses de recherche Jacques-Bouchard en soins palliatifs à domicile (Jacques-Bouchard Palliative Home Care Scholarship Fund).
These major contributions will be formalized through the government regulatory approval process. These measures are part of the Foundation’s mission to promote access to palliative care at home today and for years to come.
To celebrate 12 years of commitment, the Jacques-Bouchard Foundation and its president, Caroline Bouchard, as well as the Foundation’s ambassador, actor and host Louise Deschâtelets, invite you to the opening of the exhibition Deux femmes artistes en harmonie (“Two Female Artists in Harmony”) that will take place on Tuesday, April 30th at 5:30 pm at the Monument National.
Artists Marlène-Luce Tremblay and Madeleine Tailleur will present new and original artworks in which a visual dialogue depicts the inner beauty of nature and human beings.
Nearly twenty art pieces will be on sale during this exhibition. Artist Madeleine Tailleur’s book, L’œuvre d’une Vie (A Life’s Work), published by Éditions Stromboli, will also be launched. Part of the sales’ proceeds will be donated to the Jacques-Bouchard Foundation.
